Force India facing an uncertain future

Speculation over Force India's future has reached a boiling point this morning after photos from the
Belgian Grand Prix paddock showed Force India's lorries stripped of logos. While preparation for the Grand Prix continues as normal, uncertainty still lingers over the team's eligibility to race this weekend.

Force India announced that they had entered administration a few weeks ago and that they were seeking investment to save the team from bankruptcy. Thanks to the efforts of Sergio Perez and the team, they were saved from this fate by a consortium led by billionaire Lawrence Stroll, father of Lance Stroll. It is reported, however, that while the physical assets of the team have been purchased the entry that allows the team to race has yet to be transferred. This means, of course, that Force India currently are not eligible to enter a Grand Prix.

As well as this, it has also been reported that Liberty Media has approached all the teams in a bid to save the budget team. The deal would see the team lose their points in the constructor's title and would most likely trigger a flurry of activity in the driver's market.  If this was the case, who would go where? The most likely transfer is that Stroll would move to Force India. This leaves an empty seat at Williams. This seat could be filled by Robert Kubica or Oliver Rowland, but also Esteban Ocon. Ocon is the driver who is set to lose his seat to Stroll and leaves him without a drive. What are his options? Williams could be one thanks to the connection with Mercedes. Toro Rosso currently has a vacant seat thanks to Gasly's departure to Red Bull. Potentially, Mclaren could be an option if they decide not to keep on Vandoorne. In reality, Ocon could suffer the same fate as Pascal Wehrlein. Being in the wrong team at the wrong time. This is currently all speculation, however!

Reports of a name change have also come through which would have to be approved by all the teams. This is likely to happen thanks to the scenes of the blank lorries in the paddock. What will it be called? Force Stroll? Force Canada? Force Money Money Money? We are yet to see. I really hope that Force India remain in the paddock for the foreseeable future. They have shown that even a low budget team can achieve results. The future is uncertain at the moment but we should have an idea come this weekend.

The 2019 F1 Grid:What we know so far!

This year's driver market has been one of the craziest in recent years and even though we've had so much going on, we still have some empty seats to be filled! So, I thought it'd be nice to sit down and go through what we know so far. Who is driving where in 2019?. I've got an inkling that as soon as this is published, it'll be out of date!                                          Mercedes: Lewis Hamilton & Valtteri Bottas This came as no surprise to anyone really. With Hamilton on course to win his 5th world title, why should he go anywhere? Bottas has shown that he can beat Hamilton in a straight fight, a prime example being the Russian GP where he, of course, had to move out of the way for Lewis. His unquestioning obedience to team orders helped his cause as well. A man in his prime with the perfect wingman. Mercedes look good for 2019.     ...

BREAKING: Carlos Sainz signs for Renault for 2018.

So it's happened! The rumours that materialised earlier in the year have come true. Carlos Sainz has signed for Renault for the 2018 season. An interesting and quite unexpected move to say the least. It's quite a surprise to see Sainz move out of the Red Bull program, but then again it isn't and i can see why he did it. It could potentially be a very smart move. Toro Rosso are in talks in moving to Honda power, and with how uncompetitive the toro rosso has been in the past few races,i can understand Sainz's logic in moving. Honda have yet to prove that they are able to be competitive, and with Sainz's frustration in Toro Rosso with a Ferrari engine, imagine his frustrations with a Honda Engine! It's obviously a move to future-proof himself in F1. I also think Sainz moved because he wasn't going to get a drive in a Red Bull for a considerable amount of time. Ricciardo and Verstappen are very strong drivers and an excellent combination in Red Bull,so why w...
